The biggest vacancy. You will guard premises, control access, patrol sites, report incidents. Must be PSIRA registered. Sites include mines, malls, hospitals, government buildings. *Grade 10-12 accepted.*
*2. Armed Response Officer*
Respond to alarm activations, emergencies, escort services. Must have valid firearm competency, PSIRA Grade B/C, driver’s license, and no criminal record.
*3. Control Room Operator*
Monitor CCTV, alarms, radio communication, dispatch armed response. Must have PSIRA, computer literacy, and ability to work night shift.
*4. Security Supervisor / Site Manager*
Lead team of guards, manage shift rosters, ensure site compliance, report to clients. PSIRA Grade B/A required + 2-3 years supervisory experience.
*5. CCTV Operator*
Monitor cameras, identify risks, report suspicious activity. PSIRA and CCTV certificate advantageous.
*6. Receptionist / Security Admin Clerk*
Admin support, filing, PSIRA renewals, HR assistance. Matric + computer skills required.
*7. K9 Handler / Dog Handler*
Handle security dogs for patrolling. PSIRA DH certificate required.
Requirements for Mafoko Security Hiring 2026
*Minimum Requirements:*
– *Education:* Grade 10, 11, 12 accepted. Matric is an advantage but NOT compulsory for Grade D/E guards.
– *PSIRA:* Must have valid PSIRA Certificate – Grade E, D, C, B, A. If expired, you must renew. PSIRA must be valid.
– *Age:* 18 – 55 years old
– *Citizenship:* South African citizen with valid SA ID
– *Criminal Record:* NO criminal record – must be able to pass background check
– *Skills:* Good communication, able to speak English + local language, physically fit, disciplined, honest, punctual, able to work under pressure
– *Availability:* Must be able to work shifts – day shift, night shift, weekends, public holidays, 12-hour shifts
– *Other:* Reliable transport, sober habits, no tattoos visible in uniform (some sites), must be able to stand long hours
*For Armed Response:*
– Valid firearm competency – Handgun, Shotgun, Rifle
– Valid driver’s license – Code 08/10

Mafoko Security pays according to PSIRA rates and client contracts:
